ASO Hyderabad lodged FIR against diesel smugglers

KARACHI: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO), MCC Hyderabad has seized huge quantity of foreign origin diesel smuggled into the country along with the vehicles and booked several accused.

According to the details of the case, specific information received by the Additional Collector Model Customs Collectorate, Hyderabad Omar Shafique and Deputy Superintendent Pakistan Rangers Hyderabad regarding huge quantity of smuggled HSD being transported through five oil tankers from Balochistan via mountain area towards interior Sindh through gravel top road.

Pursuant to information the staff of ASO, Hyderabad and Pakistan Rangers participated in field operation 40 KM away from the border of Balochistan and recovered five oil tankers duly loaded with smuggled HSD and brought it to Customs House, Hyderabad for further legal formalities.

Since the documents such as calibration chart and invoices were not available with the tankers, the ascertainment of the quantity was done on the vertical dip which was done by M/s Hyderabad Filling Station Hyderabad in the presence of Rangers Staff and Customs staff.

The seized quantity comes to 130,000 liters of HSD valuing Rs5.2 million and five oil tankers valuing Rs4.5 million involving duty and taxes of Rs4.825 million.

Authorities have established that foreign origin HSD was brought inthe country through un-authorized route and without payment of duty and taxes leviable thereon. In absence of lawful documents it is proved that loaded oil is smuggled one.

FIR has been lodged against accused including Abdul Sattar Brohi, Jameel Ahmed resident of Sohrab, Haji Majeed resident of Noshki, Fazal Muhammad resident of Tehsil Sohrab District Qalat, Bashir Ahmed resident of Tehsil Sohrab District Qalat, Muhammad Ishaque resident of Tehsil Sohrab District Qalat, Muhammad Anwar S/o Ghous Bux resident of Tehsil Sohrab District Qalat and others.
