NAB Sindh organizes walk on International Anti-Corruption Day

KARACHI: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Sindh organized a walk at Clifton beach here Wednesday to mark the International Anti-Corruption Day.

Senator Moula Bux Chandio, Advisor to Sindh Chief Minister on Information was the chief guest. The other guests include cricket legend Waseem Akram, politicians, stage artists, city elite and citizens.

The event provided a golden opportunity to the Sindh government and Advisor Chandio who criticized the NAB at their programme when he raised question about the utility of the NAB and said it exists since decades with “no results”. Sindh government is irked by arrest of Dr. Asim Hussain, former federal minister for Petroleum and anticipates more arrests of top PPP leaders including former Education Minister Pir Mazharul-Haq and others. Advisor on Information however expressed commitment of the provincial government to fight terrorism. If the nation decides to team up against corrupt elements and practices, the same would be eliminated in days not years.

DG NAB Sindh in a key speech said NAB is acting independently and without bias against any individual or any political party. NAB would take action against corrupt persons, officials without any discrimination and affiliation; he said revealing that in near future key political figures may be roped in.

 The walk was marred by poor organization forcing Waseem Akram to leave as soon as walk commenced.
