KARACHI:- Dr Fazalullah Pechuho, Sindh Secretary Education and Literacy, closely related to PPPP president Asif Ali Zardari moved High Court of Sindh seeking direction to Federal Selection Board to decide his promotion case.
A petition filed by Fazalullah Pechuho came up for hearing Wednesday before a division bench of SHC comprising Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Zulfiqar Ahmed Khan. The petitioner maintained that he joined the civil service of Pakistan in 1985 and was assigned District Management Group in 1989. He submitted that he has a good service record of 30 years and has served as AC/SDM, TDAP Officer, Chief Financial Officer Civil Aviation Authority, and Secretary Finance and presently posted as Secretary Education and Literacy.
The petitioner maintains that in Feb 2013, he along with others was allowed promotion by the Central Selection Board but this was questioned in another petition by one Orya Maqbool Abbasi before the Supreme Court Pakistan. The apex court decided in favor of the Orya Maqbool against which Pechuho also filed a revision, which was also rejected, and petitioner was asked to approach the relevant services bench at Karachi.
Today the bench after hearing the counsel for petitioner placed DAG on notice while asking the office to fix the case in second week after winter vacations are exhausted.
