KARACHI: A divisional bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Faisal Kamal Alam on Thursday adjourned hearing of a contempt of court application filed by famous model Ayyan Ali till Friday.
Qadir Khan Mandokhail advocate appeared for the lady/petitioner who seeks deletion of her name from Exit Control List so that she could proceed to Dubai for her professional commitments.
Today when the application for contempt proceedings came up, Deputy Attorney General for Pakistan Salman Talibuddin said that compliance report as ordered by the court could not be produced as fax machine of his office is out of order since many days.
The counsel for top model said that government is just delaying the hearing and want to drag the matter. He informed the court that petitioner/applicant has a seat booked in the morning.
The bench noted the anxiety on the part of the petitioner but said counsel should have anticipated delay in proceedings. Later the bench adjourned hearing till Friday morning when it will decide the issue if government fails in submitting a compliance report after deleting her name from ECL.
